My journey from disordered eating and zero confidence

 to yoga teacher and personal trainer!

Hi, I’m April Joy and I’m passionate about helping people live their happiest, healthiest lives!

 

Why?

Because I’ve been the person who HATES exercise.

Then I was the person who LOVES exercise, to the point of obsessively tracking every workout and calorie.

But through it all, I was always the person who hated her body, that’s for sure!

One of my earliest memories is sitting in the back of my Grandparents’ car, staring down at my belly in utter dismay for how “fat” it was.

Ever since I can remember, every time I looked in the mirror, I thought “ugh!”

I loved food, but felt ashamed and guilty whenever I ate anything “naughty”.

In my teenage years I battled eating disorders, and even in my early twenties, after I had technically recovered, I was still plagued with that little voice in my head telling me I was never good enough.

Hating Your Body Is Exhausting.

I was constantly worried about what I looked like; excruciatingly conscious of my arms, my legs, my belly.

I was terrified of gaining weight, stepping on the scales every morning to inspect the damage.

I would hide at the back of photos, or avoid being in them altogether.

I just couldn’t imagine ever appreciating my body, or having a healthy relationship with food and exercise!

Uh, Yeah Right!

I’m here to tell you that there’s more to life than worrying about your weight! Better still, you can be the healthiest, happiest version of yourself without having to track another calorie, or join another slimming club ever again!

When I was 24, I took a magical, life-changing trip to Bali.

It was during a retreat that I fully discovered yoga and its glorious ability to bring you out of your anxious mind and into your wonderful body. It was the catalyst I needed to turn my life around and discover my passion for movement and true healthy living.

I’m Here To Help You.

Since then, I’ve trained as a Yoga Teacher, Personal Trainer and Health Coach so that I could leave the military and start helping people discover this incredible way of living too!

As well as travelling to India to become a certified yoga teacher and taking my personal training qualification, I also trained with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to become a coach. I have mixed these three elements with all the invaluable information I learned on my own personal journey in order to build the membership and bring you my unique coaching method.

Now, I get to be a cheerleader for brilliant people like you as you learn how to fall in love with your body and your life.
